I HATE TO..start a Sunday feature on a Tuesday, but due to scheduling conflicts
it happens.

But with hockey in Chicago about to go on a summer golfing vacation, the time
is right to do so.

THE GOG NEWS BLOG..usually gets the good stuff on the first or about the first
of the month, but sometimes things can't wait. Or some events will pass by the
time the GOG Blog gets the word, and before the NEWS BLOG goes to press
again.

IN ADDITION PLEASE LOOK FOR...THE GOG BLOG SPEAKS..A NEW MONDAY

The GOG Blog speaks will be my opinion of the week on something, that normally
leaves me feeling like I have just 3-putted from four feet. But there will be some
positives too, at least we hope.

FIRST UP...ORCHARD VALLEY GOLF CLUB..has a special Easter Sunday
brunch this Sunday April 24, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Adults $26.99, Kids 10 and
under $15.95, kids 3 and under FREE. Golf Specials at Orchard Valley too

league 50 and over starts on May 3rd.

THE ILLINI SPRING CLASSIC WAS LAST WEEKEND IN URBANA AT STONE
CREEK...Mike Small's Fighting Illini team ended up in second place after
the event was shortened to 36 holes because of bad weather. Akron was the
winner over Illinois, who was followed by Northwestern after a great second
round charge by the Coach Pat Goss led Wildcats.

GO...U..NORTHWESTERN..The Wildcats are hosting the Womens Big Ten
Championship this weekend at Lake Shore Country Club in Glencoe. The
tourney is Friday-Saturday-Sunday.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...THE CDGA GOLF TV SHOW IS ON THE AIR, it
can be seen on Comcast Sportsnet. The program hosted by Jill Carlson
will air one more time in April on the 22nd at 12:30 PM.

CANTIGNY GOLF IS OFFERING IT'S FIRST..Saturday Golf workshop of the
season this Saturday April 23 from 2-5 PM. Cost is $150. This workshop
will provide the golfer with tips on how to get more distance on their shots,

HELP THE POLICE...The Metropolitan Alliance of Police (MAP) a not for profit
organization, that helps police officers in several ways. They are looking for
donors in terms of hole sponsors and raffle prizes, and or donations for their
