THE GOG BLOG SPEAKS OUT...RANTS, RAVES, MORE
THE GOOD LOOKING GUY ON THE RIGHT IN MAJ. USA ED PULIDO FROM THE FOLDS OF HONOR FOUNDATION, THE OTHER (GOG BLOG) GUY...on the left is the person
who almost broke the lens on Maj. Ed's camera. At least he had the correct shirt on.
Major Ed as he's known was the perfect soldier to come to Wrigley Field on a day
where he was highlight. The Cubs played their worst game of the season losing
to the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-0, getting only three hits.
One person brought the fans out of their seats all day long, it was Major Ed who
got the well deserved standing ovation from the crowd on hand, that was announced
at over 38,000.
Budweiser the King of Beers brought Major Ed into town to be recognized on
Memorial Day Weekend, Budweiser is a corporate sponsor of the Folds of Honor.
If you don't know what Fold of Honor is, please visit their website www.foldsofhonor.com.
Folds of Honor is how Patriot Golf Day or now PG Weekend which was started by Maj.
Dan Rooney has evolved.
When your teeing up today, because you have the day off, or after that last putt falls and
your starting up the BBQ, stop and think of WHY, you have the day off. If you have never
had the pleasure to meet Major Ed, hopefully someday you will. Life seems a lot better
after you do.

as the dates approach. Local courses in conjunction with the IPGA, will support this
great cause. Speaking of great, great footage today during the Cubs game of Maj. Ed
during his moment on the field, 30 seconds of air time well deserved.
HE'S #1, HE'S NUMBER ONE...Congrats to NU's Luke Donald on his BMW PGA
of Europe win over Lee Westwood in a playoff. With the win, Luke heads off to
Muirfield Village and Jack's place for this weeks Memorial Tournament. Well
deserved and well earned, Donald is a class act and golf is better with him at
the top for as long as it lasts.
A PAT ON THE BACK...TO JIM SOBB of Ivanhoe GC..for a good effort at the Senior
PGA at Valhalla KY. last week. Round 2 at the Jack Nicklaus designed venture took
it's toll on Sobb who missed the cut, after round 1 left him just inside of the cut line.
In less than 30 days Sobb will be playing in the PPNC in Hershey PA., good luck
at Hershey to Sobb and all other IPGA qualifiers and defending champion Mike
Small.
