THE GOG BLOG SPEAKS OUT, RANTS, RAVES & MORE...

(L-R) Tony Biata-Rory Spears &
Major Ed Pulido Folds of Honor
at Medinah Country Club.

THIS IS PATRIOT GOLF DAY..and it wraps up Patriot golf weekend. Hopefully
you will have a chance to play and donate to the Folds of Honor Foundation. A
great way to play golf and give back at the same time, and remember the men
and women who have sacrificed especially for the last 10 years.

This Sunday we will all take time to remember what happened just ten years
ago. As a result of that day, many people in our military have sacrificed a lot
to make sure 9/11/01 never happens again. Organizations like Folds of Honor
and The Illinois Patriot Education Fund help military families get back on their
feet through educational scholarships. Organinzations like this are just another
way that the great game we all play gives back to society, and makes the world
a better place. Please help where you can.

(ABOVE)..It was great to meet Tony Biata the new Director of Patriot Golf Day
for Folds of Honor, and to see Major Ed Pulido Vice President of PR for the
Folds of Honor again. Major Ed has traveled to 23 cities in 30 days for the
cause, he is still warrior today and looked good on TV networks everywhere
teeing off Patriot Golf Weekend with former President G.W. Bush last Thursday.
Today is more than just Labor Day, it's Patriot Golf Day...GO PLAY.

RAVE..TO THE SHARK GREG NORMAN...I mentioned here a couple of weeks
back that Norman felt there is still too much Tiger talk for a struggling player.
Agreed. What I failed to point out, was later in the interview Norman made the
exact same point I have said for years.

"The media put all their eggs in one basket with Tiger, and they forgot about all
the other great players and now they are getting their reward." Norman went on
to list several players who got ignored, but are now finally getting the recognition
they deserve. The main point here, is Golf will NEVER be all about one guy. That
can get a sport in trouble, like it did golf for a while. Fourtunately that cycle is now
ending as Woods falls out of the world Top 40.
