THE 39TH RYDER CUP AT MEDINAH ONE YEAR AWAY
The Ryder Cup one year out media day brought the big bus to Medinah,
hop on for a ride to the Ryder Cup.
It was a chance for the captains, Davis Love III and Jose Maria Olazabal
of Europe to meet up on American soil and launch the 39th Ryder Cup
at Medinah.
The two captain go way back to 1986, when they both turned pro on two
different tours. Both have lost people they care about who have influenced
them in golf. Davis Love III lost his dad in a plane crash, Jose Maria Olazabal
lost his Ryder Cup partner Seve Ballesteros to brain cancer earlier this year.
Bot captains want to make sure when all is done, the mentors would be proud.
You can bet they will be.

(Davis Love III was named team USA Captain in January at Medinah)
Both captains answered questions in regards to their teams, how they will be
made up. The golf course Medinah Country Club and how it will play. Both
want to win but both will not play. Olazabal will not play if he makes his own
team, but Love III will play if he qualifies. If he does he will be the first USA
playing captain since 1963, which was Arnold Palmer.
Rain at Medinah hampered both captains from playing the course, but a few
putts were rolled for the cameras. Both talked about the new 15th hole, set
up by Rees Jones ( The Cup Doctor) to play as the risk-reward short par
four. Both captains agreed there is enough risk reward on the final holes to
make it interesting if the matches get that far.
