CANTIGNY'S RICH DUKELOW WINS IPGA PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP AND 2011 IPGA PLAYER OF THE YEAR

EAGLE RIDGE RESORT/SPA IN GALENA HOSTED THE IPGA PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP
The final IPGA major championship of the year, is the Players Championship
at Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa.The events is 36 holes and was played on
the resorts Par 72 North Course.
Rich Dukelow of Cantigny Golf broke through to win by one shot. Dukelow
beat a field of 95 after opening with a 5 under par 67. Round two didn't go
as well when Dukelow shot a +1, 73 to put him in at -4.
But it turned out that was all he needed, to edge out Jim Billiter of the
Merit Club (73-68 -3) and Steve Orrick of Decatur CC (70-71 -3). Defending
Champion Matt Slowinski of Glen Oak finished at +4 and a T-16th.
"This one was a long time coming, " Dukelow said. " It feels good to win
it."
With the win Dukelow earned enough points to be the Illinois PGA Player
of the year for 2011. Dukelow will be honored at a dinner on October 19th.

Glen Oak Assistant Matt Slowinski won the 2011 IPGA Assistant Player of the year
award, Slowinski finished second at the IPGA Section Championship at Medinah in
August.
Ivanhoe Head Professional Jim Sobb started off the year by rolling through both
IPGA Match Play Championships. First winning the senior match play at
Shoreacres, then the match play the following week at Kemper Lakes over
Dukelow in the final match.
Both Slowinski and Sobb will also be honored on October 19th. On behalf of
