WELCOME BACK TO THE GOG BLOG SPEAKS OUT, WHICH
ARE THE COMMENTS OF RORY SPEARS.....

AUSTRALIAN OPEN...It wasn't hard to notice that some media types
were getting a little too giddy over the past weekend. Because the
third place finisher was in contention again (sort of). But in the end
Greg Chalmers and former John Deere Classic Champion John
Senden finished first and second, to save golf fans everywhere from
what would have been an insane week of promos had the third place
guy won.

Hopefully the third place guy will pull it together this week and help
TEAM U-S-A, bring home that Presidents Cup. Hey fill it Fosters
Mate and drink up.

FOR ALL YOU GIDDY MEDIA TYPES...careful what you wish for,
putting all the eggs in one basket almost killed the game before.
Let's not go down that road again.

CONGRATS AND CONDOLENCES..to Luke Donald and his wife
Diane on the birth of new baby Sophia Anne Donald, born on 11-11-11.
Unfortunately Luke's father Colin passed away unexpectedly four
days before the birth of his new grand child.

THE WESTERN GOLF ASSOCIATION..or WGA...will not be making
any announcement on the home for the 2013 BMW Championship
before Thanksgiving. They still hope to announce the decision before
Christmas. The 2012 BMW Championship will be held at Crooked Stick
Golf Club in Carmel Indiana (near Indy).

DO YOU WANT TO BUY A GOLF COURSE...If you have a spare 1.7
million laying around, and who doesn't these days. The Chalet Hills GC
in Cary could be yours. Maybe the Cary Park District that owns the
neighboring Foxford Hills Golf Club, could expand to a 36 hole facility.
Greenvisions the good people who have handed out FREE GOLF the
last two years at the Chicago Golf Show in Rosemont (Feb 24-26-2012),
have come on board as the management team to run Chalet Hills until
a new owner decides the courses future. Hopefully that future will include
a liquor license, which the course hasn't had since late May.

ONE GOLF SHOW NEXT YEAR SO PLEASE ATTEND...expanding
on our note above. The Schuamburg golf show will not happen in 2012,
so I recommend everyone attend the Chicago golf show in Rosemont.
Mark your calendar now Feb. 24-26..stay tuned right here for more
details on that show as they happen.

NEWS FROM NORTHWESTERN..both mens head coach Pat Goss
and womens head coach Emily Fletcher have announced great additions
to their respective golf teams. A full list of new Cats joining the program
in fall of 2012 will be found here on the December Gog News Blog.
Congrats to both coaches on the new signing class.

COG HILL is having the Cold Turkey Open on November 25th, which is
the Friday after Thanksgiving. It's a shamble on course #2, so go burn
some calories off from the day before. 1-(866)-COG-HILLx318 to sign up
or do so on line at www.coghillgolf.com. Hopefully the turkey will be the
only thing that is cold that day.

IT APPEARS THAT..more of the major golf manufacturers will be headed
to the PGA Golf Show in Orlando Jan. 26-28, 2012. That is a good thing
for golf in general. Details as they become available.

GO PLAY FOLKS..time is running out........RS
